A Pictorial Diary of the Crucifix
which I carved
in Feb, March, April 2009
 
The Crucifix itself was carved from Basswood.
The Cross was Poplar.
I textured it with a gouge, then stained and sealed  it.
I finished it with a coat of polyurethane.

The Blessing of the Veneration Cross 
St Andrews Episcopal Church
Emporia, Kansas
Palm Sunday  4-05-2009
I walked in with it covered with a red drape.
It was then uncovered, Blessed, then Covered again.
 
It will be used for the Good Friday Service
each year at
 St. Andrews Episcopal Church
 Emporia, Kansas
